English is written from left to right, but Arabic is written from right to left.
Very intriguing but beautiful question. The language of the world is written from left to right but why Arabic is written in the opposite direction i.e. from right to left.
If you want to know the answer to this question, you have to take a little effort to know what "writing" is and what "pen" and "paper" are.
From the day when people started writing on paper or sheet instead of carving on stone, language started to be written from left to right.
When a right-handed person writes on a piece of paper with a pen, he has to write from the left to see his writing clearly. The letter written by the pen in the right hand is not hidden from the eyes, the written word can be seen clearly.
But long before writing on paper, the Arabs used to carve and write down useful things.
In that case, a right-handed man had to hold a hammer in his right hand and a chisel or carving machine in his left hand. Holding the chisel in his left hand, he had to write from right to left to see the letters clearly.
Image, joint use of chisel in left hand and hammer in right hand, some open space leisure on left.
I am going to give some descriptions in a consistent way to get a clear idea.
Discovery of writing method
The most important contribution of the world\"s oldest Sumerian civilization was the invention of the writing system.
The Sumerian language was written between 5100 and 4900 BC. The English letter V which is basically the Sumerian letter is still in use.
Prior to the invention of the writing system, the idea of Egyptian writing was pictorial, which was difficult.
Paper was made by Chai Lun in about 200 AD to find the Han Empire of China.
The circulation of paper spread from China to the rest of the world through Muslims.
Commercial production of paper in Europe began in the thirteenth century with the invention of the paper mill.
Paper, pen, doyat, the words are Arabic.
The word "paper" comes from the name of the "papyrus" tree in ancient Egypt.
After the paper came to ancient Greece, the Greeks and Romans began to write. Since then all writing has been moved from left to right for ease of writing and viewing.
Even before the invention of paper in Arabia, important things were written in stone. Like the Arabic script, the Hebrew script is written from right to left.
The "Ten Commandments" given by Allah to Hazrat Musa (AS), or the greatest Prophet of the Jews
(10 Commandments) was engraved on two stones which was known as Torah Kitab or Torah.
